One thing I've been working on is limiting how much time I spend on the internet. There is so much I want to do at home, but it's easy to get caught up in reading the many interesting things you can find. One thing leads to another.
One way I've been dealing with this is setting a timer and sticking to that limit. I'm not sure what the optimal amount of time is yet - maybe it should vary for different days. Sometimes it's quite relaxing to spend an hour reading for fun. Other days I wish I'd gotten off the computer sooner. So I'm playing with that.
A key part of the timer plan is to turn the computer off when I'm done. If I leave it on, I will get on it again. If there is something I genuinely need to do later (checking library books, checking plans with friends), I can turn it back on. If it's off, it's a bit less tempting.
I never use the computer on Sundays, which is a big help. This weekend I won't use it the whole three days. I think it's healthy for the brain, wrists, and eyes to take some time away.
Even if it is fun. :)
Do you have any good strategies or ideas to recommend?

Unfortunately I do not have any foolproof strategies, but I will agree that keeping at least one day a week Internet-free is a big help! I've recently started doing this myself, and find that the day goes by much more slowly than when I sit down at the computer for a minute here or a minute there. But I don't mean that in a way that it goes by TOO slowly; in fact, I relish the slower pace afforded to me on the days of rest. I just wanted to note that I'm right there with you on this. :)
